Assets are nearly anything of value owned by individuals or companies, and they can be defined in different ways. Assets in RemOnline include property owned by clients (devices, vehicles, other things that need repair) and solely business assets (tools, machinery, equipment) used by service specialists and technicians at your company. That’s why to maintain your physical inventories and track property records of your clients in RemOnline you will need separate warehouses for Assets and Products. Learn how to create warehouses in this article.

Important: Assets may have different names (Vehicle, Device, Appliance, Tool, Shoes, Garment) depending on the type of business you choose when creating your account.

How To Create Assets On The “Inventory > Assets” Page

Step One: Navigate to the “Inventory > Assets” page, then press “+ Asset”.

Step Two: Complete the following fields:

Owner — set the asset ownership, either for your company or individuals (clients).

We — when choosing this to create assets for a business, you need to select a corresponding warehouse.

Client when choosing this to create assets owned by your clients, you just need to select a relevant profile from your client base.

IMEI / Serial number — use a serial number of the asset you’re going to create, the title of this field will depend on the category of business you select when signing in to RemOnline.

If for some reason the asset does not have a serial number or it cannot be determined, then you can generate a unique serial number. To do this, click the “Generate” button.

Note: The “Owner” and “IMEI / Serial Number” fields are mandatory fields.

Group — complete this system field with a necessary group of assets.

Brand — represents the brand of the device or equipment.

Model — represents the model of the device or equipment.

Modification — represents modifications (when available).

Remember, the following fields: “Group”, “Brand”, “Model”, and “Modification” work as a Directory hierarchy. Go to the “Settings > Directories > Assets” for configuration.

When the Directory setup is complete, choosing the “Cell phones" group will automatically display a corresponding list of producers in the “Brand” field. Find the one you need (let’s say it’s Apple) to see only relevant models for the “Model” field to choose from.

Cost — represents asset value in monetary terms.

Use this field for collateral or estimated value to make things easier for managers when putting basic information on Assets into Orders.

You can create new, modify, or remove the existing fields in the Asset. Learn more about configuring the Asset Form in this article.

Step Three: Press “Create”.

Done! Your first newly-created Asset is now on the Asset Table.

How To Create Assets From Order

To enable creating new Assets right from the Order Profiles you just need to add fields from the Asset Form to Order Form. Go to the “Settings > Forms Editor > Assets” page, and enable “Show in Order form” checkbox to the necessary fields. Then go to the Order Form, and add the “Asset” system field. Learn more about the Asset Forms Editor in this article.

Create Assets from Orders in two different ways:

1. Complete the “IMEI / Serial number” field in the Order, and press “+” to the right or move down and hit “+ Create asset” instead.

Complete mandatory fields and press “Create”.

Done! Now Order gets a built-in Asset Profile colored in green (when the Asset belongs to the “Client”) or featured with orange (when the Asset belongs to the “We”).

2. Complete the “IMEI / Serial number” field and the “Asset” master field without leaving the Order Profile. Upon creating a new Order, a corresponding asset will be automatically added to the Asset Warehouse owned by the client. The client specified in the Order will be the Owner of this Asset.

Your newly-created Assets can be found across the Asset Table on the “Inventory > Assets” page, along with the “Assets” tab in the corresponding Client Profile it belongs to.
