The Chats module in RemOnline continues to improve as we expand its features and available integrations. We are excited to announce that on the Startup and higher plans, you can now integrate your WhatsApp business account and SMS by Twilio for two-way messaging with your clients directly within RemOnline!
How the Chats Module Works with WhatsApp and SMS by Twilio
Once you set up your Twilio account and connect WhatsApp and SMS to RemOnline as channels, all incoming customer messages will appear in the "Chats" section, where you can respond immediately. A red indicator in the left-side menu will show how many incoming messages are waiting for your response.
For example, if a customer contacts you with a question about their work order, you can link the chat conversation with the client from your database in the right-side menu and immediately see the history of existing work orders, leads, and estimates. If it's a new customer, you can add them to your database, create an order or estimate, and send the client a public link to the created document.
Moreover, you can set up WhatsApp message templates in your Twilio account and send them in RemOnline Chats with just a few clicks. These templates help continue conversations if it's been more than 24 hours since your last interaction with a customer.
Please note that messages received before connecting new channels will not appear here.
Connect WhatsApp and SMS by Twilio to RemOnline
WhatsApp and SMS two-way messaging in RemOnline require a paid Twilio account. In your Twilio account, you must set up your WhatsApp Business Account, register or connect your WhatsApp business numbers, and configure the Messaging Service for SMS. Then, you'll have all the credentials needed for integration, which you can use on the "Settings > Chats" page.
Here are all the requirements and step-by-step instructions for WhatsApp. Use this guide to connect Twilio SMS to Chats.
Using WhatsApp with RemOnline Alongside Other Communication Services
To integrate your WhatsApp business account (WABA), you need to set up your Twilio account first. Note that you cannot connect your WABA to Twilio if you have already used it to integrate with other services.
However, you can connect different Twilio accounts and WhatsApp business numbers as separate channels as long as they are not used in other RemOnline accounts.
Upcoming Chats Improvements
We are constantly enhancing RemOnline Chats to elevate your experience. Here are the upcoming features:
Start chats with clients via WhatsApp and SMS without waiting for incoming customer messages.
Attach photos and files to your conversations.
Craft templates for frequently asked questions for all available channels in RemOnline.
But before all that, we are eager to hear your thoughts on this update. Your feedback is invaluable, so share your opinions in the comments below or contact our Support Team via chat. We can't wait to engage with you!
