RemOnline enables you to use separate work order types for different types of applications.
For instance, you can configure separate work order types for your device types — laptop, refrigerator, cartridge — so you can have suitable work order forms for each one of them.
An opportunity for separate work order forms is not limited to the device type. The Online Store, Trade In, Outsourcing, Onsite, and other work order types can add significant flexibility to your RemOnline business.
Every work order type has its work order form and initial work order status you can set. This allows you to isolate business process sequences and eliminate the human element.
With RemOnline, you can always change the work order type. If you have a tremendous client flow, create a default work order type with a few fields. This way, your employees only need to fill the crucial work order information during the application. Later, you can change the work order type to enter additional work order information.
You can configure different employee bonuses for your work order types.
For instance, set up separate calculations for Paid and Warranty work order types, apply calculation multiplier to the Urgent work orders.
Creating new work order types
Step 1. Navigate to the Settings > Forms editor > Work Orders page and hit the “+” button next to the Order type field.
Step 2. Enter the name for the new work order type and select the existing work order type the system will copy work order form from.
Step 3. Set the initial work order status (if relevant). Initial work order status functionality is available in the subscription plans Business and greater.
Step 4. Hit the Create button.
Editing work order types
Hit the Pencil icon next to the Order type field to edit a work order type. You can change the name and initial status of the target work order type. Find out more about editing work order forms for your work order types here.
You can set a default work order type for each of your locations. Go to the Settings > Locations page, open the location dialog window and select the default work order type in the Default order type field. Here are the options:
Select one of the existing work order types. Choose the existing work order type to always open a new work order with a selected work order type by default.
Remember the last one. This option makes a system to copy a work order type for a new work order from the last created one.
Not specified. Select the Not specified option, and the system will always open an empty work order form, and your employees will have to select the work order type manually.
Here's an example: you have a location for home appliances repair. In this case, set the specific work order type in the Default order type field. Another situation: your location provides a broad variety of services. In such a case, set the Not specified value, so your employees can always select the needed work order form.
Hit the Remove button next to the Order type field to remove the work order type.
Note that if you have orders with this type, you will need to assign a new type to them, as they will change after the type is removed. The type of closed orders will also change. When you change the order type, all data in the fields with the same name will be carried over.
RemOnline offers to select one of the available work order statuses if the current work order status is unavailable for the new work order type. Learn more about status transfer rules here.
