We’ve put a lot of effort into this update to significantly improve your experience with data importing in RemOnline. We’re excited to introduce the first result of this work: the new product import for inventory postings! Here’s what’s new:
No strict requirements for data format or order in the imported file
Importing products that are not yet in the company’s catalog
Convenient mapping of data from import files to fields in RemOnline
Ability to specify default values for required product fields
Automatic saving of mapping settings for each supplier
Let’s dive into the details and explore the new import!
Data Mapping from Import File to RemOnline Fields
Previously, to import products into an inventory posting, you had to download an import template and fill it out following a strict data format. Now, there’s no need for that! You can simply import a file from your supplier and map its data to RemOnline fields.
Also, the old import for inventory postings only worked with products already listed in your catalog on the "My Company > Products" page. Now, you can import even products that aren’t in this list—they’ll be automatically created during the import process.
In the import window, you’ll see three columns: RemOnline product fields on the left, default values in the middle, and the import file’s data on the right. This makes the mapping process easy and straightforward.
Price Management in the New Import for Postings
During the data mapping process, prices are displayed as a separate section for better clarity. Here, you can map prices from the import file to product prices configured on the Settings > Prices and Discounts page in RemOnline.
For prices in the middle column, you have two options:
Leave as is – This keeps the exact price from the import file, useful when your supplier provides a recommended price.
Recalculate – This option automatically calculates prices based on the purchase price multiplied by the price margin configured on the Settings > Prices and Discounts page.
Automatic Saving of Mapping Settings for Each Supplier
We believe this is one of the most convenient features of the new import. Typically, each supplier uses a different data format, but now the system will remember how you mapped the data for each supplier. After your first import, the mapping will be automatically applied to future imports from that supplier. You’ll still be able to make adjustments, but this will greatly speed up the process of inventory posting.
Try out the new import to see how it simplifies your inventory management. Step-by-step instructions are available if needed.
Share Your Feedback
As we mentioned earlier, this is just the first result of our work on improving data imports in RemOnline. Next, we’ll be extending these improvements to all data imports within the system. We encourage you to try the enhanced import for inventory postings and share your feedback with us. Is it convenient for you? Does it cover all your needs? What features would you like us to add?
